Data importation

The tab "Import data" allows the user to import a file containing the data to be used

Bouton Importer un fichier TXT

The "Browse..." button allows you to import a dataset for use in the interface. Once clicked, a navigation window appears, inviting the user to search and select the record to be imported. However, there are some rules to respect regarding the formatting of the data in the input file :

  • Supported files are .csv files (with data separated by ";" or ",") or ".txt" files (with data separated by tabs) ;
  • Each column corresponds to a parameter and the first line indicates the name of the parameters;
  • the decimal separator must be the "." character;
  • Missing values must be labelled "NA";

When the file has been successfully imported, the progress bar displays "Upload complete" and a summary is displayed on the right

Summary frame

In the context of the summary, we can find several information that can allow the user to know if the loading of data is well done. For example : * the number of row/line can be used to know if the number of loaded observations is correct ; * the number of columns can help to know if each parameter has been correctly loaded separately ; * the number of "NA" allows to know how many data are missing in total in the loaded file ; * the size can also be an indicator to know if the file is good or not

View button

The "View" button allows you to view the loaded file, in order to visually see if everything has been loaded correctly. It is an alternative to the Summary to see if the file has loaded correctly. Or to simply see, if the file was loaded wrong, why it was incorrectly loaded. It is also possible to modify a value present in the file. However, this value will not be modified in the original file, only in the application. It will be possible to recover the modified dataset after the clustering at the export step.
